Good vs. Bad in Web Design

Here are a couple web sites that I think could use some improvement.

burgersfiresandcherrypies.com - This site has too many images, it is very slow loading, and not all images were viewable
www.dallasarboretum.org - This site has too much video; it is very slow loading the page. If you don't like pop up windows, you won't like this site; every button opens a new window.

Here are a couple that I think are good web sites

webgrammar.com - This web site is not too busy and well organized. I think it is a great tool and has a good color scheme.
repitlecity.com - This web site has a good color scheme and is also well organized. Navigation is relatively easy.

When designing a web page, there are a few rules that should be taken into consideration. Look at the table below for a list of some Do's & Don'ts

DO'S	DON'TS
Test your pages with different browsers	Use browser-specific terminology
Organize for quick scanning	Bury important information in the text
Keep Design Simple	Split topics across pages
Validate your pages	Don't forget to proofread and spellcheck your pages!
Design pages with descriptive links and navigational links back to the home page	Make poor link menus
